I have pairs that range from expensive to reasonable ....
My favortie reasonably priced jeans are Mavi
For what Hugo Boss and D&G jeans cost they always get ruined so fast with me ... horable life span |

That's because you aren't taking care of them properly.
Most D & G jeans come with a mini booklet explaining how to take care of them.
Most Italian jean companies have very specific ways to get them cleaned. What's good for one style of jeans is not good for the other.
Half the fun is maintaining your clothing and ensuring they last long. I don't mind if I spend $300 on jeans if they last me 3 years. |

Just to let you guys know, designer clothing isnt made to last long. It CAN last long if you do take care of it, as stated previously. But generally, you wear them, dispose of them and get something new.
Designer clothing uses expensive fabrics, can be hand made and come from places where attention do detail is one of the most important things in a garment. |

LOL. I always thought 40$ for a pair of jeans is pretty expensive. Last ones I got are pretty decent ones from orfus for $10 |

Hand wash.
Although I've never had to do that with jeans... denim is denim, sometimes it's mixed with lycra or something but I've never heard of any really exotic fabrics being used. |

And to think I thought doing laundry was a chore all these years. |

Denim is denim if you look at it from a generic and utmost primitive point of view. But there are higher quality denim fabrics out there that most people would have never thought of. It also depends what and where you buy your jeans from. Japanese denim is probably one of more higher end denim fabrics which the quality is absolutely superior then say an 10oz denim from mavi or levi's.
Raw or selvage denim is another type of denim which i can guaranteed most people won't wear because if someone told them they shouldnt wash them for 6-8 months they would that person was crazy. |

I didn't mean to say that all denim is the same (otherwise I'd be buying the cheap stuff myself), but high quality denim is still pretty rugged, if not more rugged.
Except for the raw denim, I guess. If somebody wants to not only not wash their jeans for 6 months but wear the same damn pair every day then all the power to 'em. Although I've read that you can wash those too, it just takes longer to get the distressed effect or maybe you don't get it as pronounced. Whatever, I'll stick with my pre-distressed R&Rs like the mouth-breathing tool I am. |

| I don't think I've spent more then $30.00 for a pair of jeans in 15 years. |
