Has a point about today's trance, but his previous albums wasn't too far away from his own description either. I'm saying this being a big PvD fan.

I wonder who or what he is refering to as really cheesy music.

Armin or tiesto?

Im watching pvd on good friday and he is supported by jon o'bir so they better play some of this 'electronic music' and not this really cheesy and ill see if he is right.

These trance jocks talking about trance being mucked up with commercial e is simply HILARIOUS.

hes only marginally less cheesy than the other big guys these days. so if hes ok with saying his music isn't the "real trance" that he started out with then there's no disputing his argument.

he sure is full of . stop producing cheesy garbage and stop signing The Anthem.

:haha:

I'd completely forgotten that. I like van Dyk the most out of the big trance jocks, but Armin and Tiesto have never gone so far as to sign Anthem. That thing is absolutely atrocious.

This is like hearing Richard Simmons say he's not gay.

And the guy giving the interview sounds like he just jizzed his pants before sitting down.

He probably did.

Armin (kind of) said the same thing:

So I'm guessing that this boils down to what radio DJs are calling trance. I live in Los Angeles, and there's pretty much zero EDM on the radio so I wouldn't know since I tune into the classical station if I must listen to radio.

I somewhat agree with Paul van Dyk no longer being a trance DJ. That being, he no longer limits himself to only playing trance music. Sure, the guy built himself on trance music, and when he spins (or clicks buttons on a laptop) in front of a crowd, people want him to play his classic trance tracks, so he'll do it. So as vague and unnecessary the label is, just calling it "electronic music" suits just fine. I guess.
