I recently got a hold of the complete list of SXSW performers and special guests but I can't for the life of me find any day by day coverage. It's pretty vexing,2,00 bands 125 of which I'd kill to see and not one trace of a live stream. Can anyone help with that, also what acts would you like to see if you were their?

As far as I know, no radio stations really do the live stream thing for any of the SXSW events like live broadcasts for WMC parties. Pitchfork will probably post some reviews of shows along with some video footage. But Pitchfork is no help if you don't like Beirut, Buttons or Vampire Weekend. So just search around youtube and generally the internet.

Thanks mate,I love all three so I'll deff check it out.I also heard that NPR is going to broadcast the Decemberists show tonight, kinda have mixed feelings about that.I mean I don't like big names casting even bigger shadows on up and coming artists....but I guess if anyone can look past the name it would be individuals traveling so far to escape them.

It's kind of disappointing there aren't many live streams of the shows considering SXSW is also a technology festival. You would think they would make those available.

Well, SXSW isn't a huge two-day festival like Lollapalooza, All Tomorrow's Parties or Coachella, where, mostly, the bands take the stage with no time delays. It consists of in-stores and shows held at small venues; not to mention all of the unofficial house shows that take place. Most of the events are very laid back with the "oh, it's whatever"-type approach, thus, not that well-organized or in sync with the approximate time slots. So, that's one thing that makes it difficult to do a live broadcast. A lot of the bands, though, are more than ok with people recording and will gladly let you hook up to the soundboard. Still, not many people do that, though. Even if the set of a band gets recorded, the recording usually doesn't make it much further than a local college station and an upload to archive.org

Word,I guess you're kinda right on all fronts.I wish I could have gone and brought along a digital sound recorder;I've seen one with 25 or 30 gigs that isn't too bad and the quality is spot on.Hmm I'm listening to a live broadcast now and it's amazing!I think the laid back vibe of SXSW is one in a million, that is for a 23 year young event.

Eidt......Found a link through a blog,I'm happy but the banter in' sucks!
