Is there a way to set Markers/Flags/Notes on Ableton 7? For instance, on Final Cut Pro you can set markers along your timeline, than you add notes to them. Is there a way to do that in Ableton?
Sometimes I'm working on an edit or a mix and I'm not too sure if I wanna keep a certain part, so I wanna mark it so I can go back at a later time.

yes
Insert -> add locator
the locator can be freely moved to any part of the track and you can name it anyway you like (your notes) |

I dont think you can, someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Possible work around would be to create an empty midi track. Then create empty midi clips on that track and place them wherever you like on the track in arrangement view. You can also rename them and colour code them if that helps.
EDIT: Booster posted just before me.;)
Though my way could still be useful, the ability to rename the clips can be used for notes you may want to add. |

| I think the locator has no limits for how long your notes are...but not sure, I never tried that, surelly there's enough place to write a key change for example :) |

woody hope this doesn't come across as rude but the ableton manual is by far the best and easiest read of any DAW manual out there. i think its only like 180 pages, highly suggest grabbin a beer and running thru it. |
