Seriously, there are a lot of smart people in the world, with a lot of credentials. Alex Jones isn't one of them. I'm going to take my chances and take economic advice from someone who A. has a college degree and B. knows a little bit about macroeconomic indicators.

You don't need a degree to follow news and global events, but I would expect someone to have one if they are going to be an "expert" or have insight into macroeconomic policy that is contrary to what anybody with a background in economics is saying.

It's really quite simple. Would the President ever hire a Chief Economic Advisor that flunked out of community college and has a worldview fundamentally opposed to the economic community? Probably not - and I doubt the American people would be ok with it if he did. So why should Alex Jones have the ear of the President? He's rarely been right, and his normal ranting subjects run far beyond the realm of plausibility.

You asked if he was insane or worth listening to - I gave you my opinion.
