I get that its warm in december and stuff, but I didnt know if the season names were switched too...
I guess it makes sense. |
It's ball-sweatingly hot in December, actually :p
Just consider us the exact opposite season to whatever you guys are, with the weather that should accompany said season. |

I know, but in december do you say "Jeeze what a beautiful summer day?"
I would assume so, but I never see anything from Australia that says that.
Except The Simpsons. Infact I learned most of what I know about that imprisoned island (or is that cuba) from that episode... |

Hahaha, I know the episode :p
Summer is harsh here in Brisbane though. We get mega humidity, along with the heat. I love the Autumn/Spring/Winter weather, it's awesome. Bare in mind, the average daytime temp for a Brisbane winter is about 20C (68F). |

What, sorry, how often do you hear an Australian talk about the month in the context of the season its in?
Its just something I dont know and I have never taken the time to look up as it didn't seem that important. I know that the weather is the opposite down there, but I was never sure if they switched the name of the seasons as well. I mean... if Australia is backwards, then winter would be warm and summer cold right? :p |

Ok, takes this into context.
I live in the Northern Hemisphere, it is the obviously dominate hemisphere and this only sounds incredibly ridiculous to people who live in the southern hemisphere.
How many people do you think in the Northern Hemisphere would care to know that they literally switch the names of the seasons? I guarantee you that a majority of people living north of the Equator consistently associate the season named winter to the months of December, January, and February no matter what country or hemisphere they are talking about. |

dude, everyone understands you, but we'd rather laugh at you than resolve your concerns. isn't that a reasonable response?
ps. ur original hypothesis is correct, and i never had to come across an australian weather forecast to confirm it. |

Every single person I've ever known from the Dominant Northern Hemisphere has known this already though. Surely you guys get taught this kind of thing is school? |
