congrats on the release but I was expecting more than 3 tracks. 5 or 6 would have been a good number.

Also I hope that your catalogue won't be beatport exclusive -ish but it looks like it's gonna be.

a regular digital EP is 3-4 tracks, 6 would be essentially a long player

why were you hoping for 5-6?

in order to have each track shine, if you will, its better not to crowd them

also, when starting a label, it could be either a little cocky or just not very focused to release a big collection of tracks at once

we have 4-5 next releases either completed or very close to it. Right now we are going with the exclusive arrangement with Beatport because they are excited about Culprit and will push the label so it makes sense

once we have a proper vinyl worldwide distribution in place, we could be represented everywhere. Beatport is responsible for 80-90 percent of all digital sales out there, so it's a proper place to be

A couple Culprit parties were already held, a Beatportal article came out quite some ing time ago with 3 or 4 tracks previewed in it and Miami probably had an effect too.

Considering the time and the eagerness, I was expecting more that's all. Just a matter of opinion I guess.

If you guys are active for more than 5 years, things will indoubtedly get bigger and better!

Yeah but that doesn't mean you have to be exclusive to Beatport. Personnally I always wait till a track drops to 1,30 euro to buy it. I'm not low on money but I'd rather wait to get a comprehensive feel of the track and also to buy twice as much tracks. I very rarely buy any exclusives.

whoa, don't mean to offend buddy, don't get so defensive

wondering why you were expecting 5 or 6 tracks, that was never a plan

the Beatport article came out with samples to 4 tracks, some of which will be released soon as part of different releases. Miami, Detroit, Beatport article, Culprit parties - all were tools in building up anticipation for the first release. Unfortunately, its not as easy as just submitting stuff to Beatport - if you do that without proper gestation period, you will get lost in the shuffle with hundreds of other labels

concentrating on one artist per release makes sense to us and is the way to properly promote our artists as well as the label itself. Its better to unload with everything we have but to carefully plan our path.

you know?

You need a better approach to selecting and buying your music then. :p

If the difference between buying or not buying good music comes down to cents on the dollar I think you have issues :p

I have a very big hold crate that's all. I don't care about getting the mp3 right when it comes out, I'm not in any kind of hurry.

In between 5 back catalogue tracks and 5 exclusives with 15% VAT, there is a 5 euro difference. That's almost 4 back catalogue tracks. I'd rather wait 2 or 3 weeks to buy 9 tracks I'll like than 5 exclusives which I don't know.

Ironically my last crate was all about exclusives.
