B4 I get flamed, I've tried finding the appropriate thread n failed...
So, my current PC has been with me for quite some time ad I've decided it's time I've got a new one.
And while I'm at it, I decided to stop being a prick and actually invest sum cash into a lean mean production machine.
Only problem is - I've got no clue which parts a re better - and which are more important -
Soundcards, Processors, motherboards, ANYFING.
Would appreciate your tips and comments as well as infoz on some pro artists' gear!
Thx |

Just assemble a mid range PC, doesnt matter much what is of everything, fast CPU if anything.
The standards today are pretty high so almost any new PC you buy will be sufficient. (you get what you pay for, for the most part)
The important thing is the sound card though, this is what u should look most at. |

So which one?
My current is a Realtek Onboard whose exact name I don't remember...
But it can't really be the most powerful thing out there |

You can check this card out for starters:
M-Audio Audiophile 2496
I have no experience with it, but many people use that one. |

| I have been through several pc's and soundcards trying to find stability and I now run Cubase on an Intel Q6600, a gigabyte board with 4gb ram and an E-MU 0404, running a stripped down XP. It is rock solid and goes like hell :) |

In terms of computer hardware value, it goes:
Custom Built Desktop > Consumer PC > Mac |

I run a custom built desktop
AMD dual core 2.5ghz
2mg Ram (could do with more)
Emu 0404 Sound
The sound card improved a lot i think it sounds great. This set up runs cubase 3 and up to 12-13 vsts before putting a serious load on cpu |
