I still get haunted by this when I download a track and find that EVERY SINGLE BLOODY PART of the ID3 tag has "www.homeofmusic.com" written in it...

Heh, but it's unfortunate that these sites come and go :( Such is life.

Allow me to reiterate:

Homeofmusic isn't closed down. There aren't any DD music downloads atm (due to lack of server space) but the forum is still up and can be accessed here:

http://forums.homeofmusic.com

Get with the program fellas. ;)

That place was a really good community and the only place i went to get to know good tunes. Hope it gets back up soon.

I went there too. But only for the music, now it's back online (for a while) I don't really see why I should join that forum, got enough on my hands with this one.

Greetz, Kamaya.

Yeah HOM closed down the music section *along* time ago. The funny thing I remember was every single track had www.homeofmusic.com written all over it. :) The title, the artist, the ripper, the year haha. The other thing was all the tracks were like 128 or 160 which doesn't cut the mustard these days. :)

It was a great stie and i used to love browsing all those new tracks and the archives too.

I think 128 is fine, I personally cant see a difference between 128,160,192 ect except the size of the, I always rip my MP3's at 128 ;) :D :)

It actually all depends on the rip itself i guess. Some people do great 160/128 rips, other's do ones. (take the fast option instead of the slower but better quality option) I always encode my MP3's in variable bit rate encoding at the highest setting. It's really fast as well.

Better to be safe then sorry. :)
