But I'll start with the 'first house track' - Jamie Principle got his hands on a tape of Frankie Knuckles that was circulating - added vocals and some drum kit sounds and vola... Your Love was created.
House and all its genres evolved from producers/djs taking tracks ing around with them and calling them their own.
Daft Punk comes to mind too.
There's a really good clip in the Pump of the Volume History of House documentary (which I cant find right now do to working but I think it's near the end) that explains this as well.
