I have a Roland Edirol R-09HR, with enough memory to record 10 hours, full WAV quality. I record with a few - db so I don't clip, straight out of the mixer, and just bring the result back to 0db afterwards. It's not really mastering, rather than make sure the sound is normalized. So only compression is when I create the final MP3 file.
