remixes of modern hip hop/pop songs

Hey, I'm sure this thread has been done a lot of times, but I need remixes of some of the more current mainstream/top 40 tracks.

I'm in high school and I'm doing a gig for my entire grade at the prom afterparty and so far, planning to play my favorite classics such as 'Music Sounds Better With You', 'One More Time', 'Around the World', 'Lady' etc but the guy who's organizing the party asked me to play mainstream songs so I made a compromise to play remixes of them.

Of course I can add some David Guetta and Eric Prydz as my grade is actually pretty knowledgeable about mainstream EDM. Heck, I'm also adding some of my own music that people won't know such as 'Mouth to Mouth', 'Get Deep', 'Diva', 'Orbitalife' and Sebo K's remix of Martin Landsky's 'Let me Dance'. I think these could be accepted well.

So far I have:

Ne-Yo - Closer (Stonebridge remix)
Rihanna - Disturbia (Jody Den Broeder club mix)
Craig David - Insomnia (Haji & Emanuel remix)
Flo Rida ft Tpain - Low (Samman Sexy Ibiza mix)
Eric Prydz - Pjanoo
David Guetta - Tomorrow can Wait (club mix)
David Guetta - Love is Gone (joachim garraud & fred rister remix)

just wondering if am I missing any good remixes? All the ones I can find from Kanye West, Lady Gaga, Lil Wayne etc are . Preferably tracks from 2008 onwards but also remixes for mainstream classics such as 'In Da Club' and 'Sexy Back'......

i've done that sort of party before and stuff like 'mouth to mouth' won't go down very well (assuming here you're referring to audion).

go see what axwell is playing, he does plenty of decent mashes that are usually reasonably easy to recreate. one track i found randomly worked was Axwell - I Found U (Dubfire's Summer Of Luv Mix). got zee ladies dancing, has a good grooved bassline to it.

Your DJing a party for high school kids and your only gonna play EDM remixes. Im sorry to say it like this but yes its great to expose people to different genres but I can almost guarantee you will frustrate alot of people when they ask to hear "Pokerface" and instead of the pop song they hear a house remix (expecially a EDM mix of everything).

95% of your school will want the HipHop/Top 40 song they hear on the radio. If it goes over well congratulations but sometimes if you cant bend to what your audience will want to hear you are going to alienate them and it will be a long long awkward night.

I would recommend you dig through Rhapsody or iTunes or something and sprinkle the EDM mixes in with the HH/T40.

Yeah, I considered to do just a section for top 40 stuff early on in the night, just to get all those top 40 requests out of the way, and then when it's around 2 am I play my stuff.

Won't it be difficult to mix in EDM remixes with top 40 since they're in a different BPM range anyway? Most of the hip hop/top 40 are around 85 - 110 while only very few are in EDM BPM range.

You know whats funny? DJ's who think that its their job to play what they like.

You arent a professional DJ, they aren't there to see you.
