YO!
got a virus TI last week
it is AWESOMEz
getting deeper into it, i'm trying to play back a fast midi clip (KBBBKBBB), and it keeps stopping playback... it's running 2 other plugs as well, so i have 3 sounds coming out of it playing different things at the same time, i would assume this would not be a problem since it can have 16 parts, but yeah, one of them keeps stopping and i have to stop and restart the song for it to wake back up...
no HUGE deal, it's still all working, but it's pretty annoying stopping playback every 10 seconds... :(
any ideas? I'm running logic...
i assumed that any latency issues with plugins/logic getting too over-worked would go away with the TI...? are there some settings i should have looked into for the ti? i havn't done anything to it's settings since getting it...
cheers fellas :) |

| Maybe you're running out of voices if those other two sounds are particularly intense compositions or have a lot of Unison. But if that's not the case, it's probably a bug with v3.0. I've learned to never use Virus Ti software updates until they're out of BETA. |

Yeah, could well be a bug if your on the v3 os, if you aint got the snow, then uninstall v3 and install 2.75. See if this solves it. Though be prepared for losing the newest features and gui. This would only be temporary of course until they release the official "more stable" v3.
Other than that as mentioned, you could be running out of voices. The virus can use 16 parts but in reality you'll be pushed to get past 4 without some notes being dropped. It all depends how intensive each patch is. Reverb, unison, long release etc all contribute to this.
Something useful to remember is the Virus has two dsps and the parts are allocated evenly across the two. All odd number parts are on one dsp and even numbers on the other dsp. So always make sure you balance out the part numbers you use to split the load.. |

ahh rightyo, thanks fellas, how do i uninstall an OS, or should i just try and install 2.75 over the top of it?? does it reset my patches?
might be that i've run out of voices, but i'm only running 3 patches at once, seems like it would be alright with that..
thanks :) |

Before blaming it on the software I would try and check if it is a voice limitation as previously mentioned. If you are using patches with loads of fx, oscilators, unison etc. etc. you could be running out of voices. It's happened to me before using about 5 parts.
Load up each part with more basic dry patches and see if you get the same problem first. |
