UAD 4K Channel Strip:

UAD 4K Buss Compressor:

So has anyone purchased these? I was planning on picking up the Waves SSL 4000 collection for their emulation of the SSL 4000 stuff, but I wonder how the UAD compares to the Waves versions?

had a minute to play with them at NAMM. awesome stuff. i've always favor'd the UAD stuff to the waves but i can't really say how good of an emulation one is compared to another(mostly because i have no idea what the real deal sounds like).

Well I'm kind of in a quandary. I've really been stocking up on Buss compressors, and the SSL G Buss Compressor is supposed to be really good for master buss applications.

So before now, Waves was my only option, but now that UAD has one, I have to decide. Part of the problem is how much DSP the SSL UAD emulations are going to take up. I already come close to maxing out my 2 cards on a typical project, and I have no more room to put in more cards.

So the dilemma is: Pickup the Waves Native versions for $700, OR pick up a new UAD-2 duo card for $900?

UAD provides such a nice solution. Everything they make is gold, unlike Waves where you have to sort through all of their old crap before getting to the newer vintage emulations which are tons better.

I'd like to hear how this compares to the Waves SSL. I'm a real fan of Waves SSL, it's by far my favorite EQ and Compressor.

Not sure if you guys are aware of the glue? a native ssl emulation buss comp with a unique range control parameter - ideally suited for electronic music.

check out the 14 day trial > http://www.cytomic.com/Beta/The_Glue_Beta_Info.html

Sounds great if there was a released version. I hesitate installing BETA software on a production machine.
