STONY PLAIN, Alta. - Police have arrested a 16-year-old in the deaths of two girls who took ecstasy at a wedding celebration on a reserve west of Edmonton.
The RCMP say the youth from the Paul Band First Nation faces nine charges, including criminal negligence causing death, criminal negligence causing bodily harm and trafficking.
Trinity Dawn Bird, 15, and Leah Dominique House, 14, spent two days in critical condition in an Edmonton hospital before they were taken off life support within hours of each other.
The two girls were among nine others who took the drug during the wedding celebration last Saturday at the band's community hall.
The youth who has been charged cannot be identified under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
He has been released with conditions and is to appear in provincial court in Stony Plain, Alta., on May 1. |

this reserve is straight ghetto, just like all the other reserves in alberta.
apparently they took 5 pills each, seems kinda unlikely they would die from that. im guessing they were drinking as well.
IMO 15 year olds shouldn't be popping pills anyway. I waited till i was 19 . |
