My First Set -- Need Help

Hey there, I'll be performing my first set at a club soon. I am fairly comfortable with using Pioneer CDJ-1000's. I just have two questions.
1. I have never used a booth monitor to DJ with, most of the times I play at private parties and house parties and I'll just use the headphones with both decks cued and beatmatch that way without having a stereo split. If I want to use my headphones at a club, is it common practice to turn down the volume of the booth monitor?
2. Is the booth monitor just like any other speaker in the club or can I actually listen to my cues, i.e: have both decks cued up like I would in my headphones to beatmatch?
Thanks guys, this would really mean a lot to me. Sorry for the newb questions. |

1. Do whatever makes you comfortable. Turn the booth down and mix in headphones, or use it to mix.
2. Booth monitor is master channel, it's just a shorter run so the delay isn't as bad as the main speakers. It will be more in time with what the output of each channel is. |

Thanks buddy, so in other words the booth monitor is exactly the same as the other speakers only closer so that there is little delay correct? |
