| If massive is one of the best synths for squelchy, unnatural sounds, what synth is best for smooth, soft, buttery type leads? Nexus seems too limiting but it seems they have a nice base of samples. |

Also, Massive isn't the best for squelchy leads, TB303 is. |

Rapture comes to mind, too. |

| Massive is great if you are writing Tech House. Not as good for Trance, but I use it a lot for bass when I'm writing in either genre. |

This one's sweet and it's FREE.
I used it for a fairly mellow lead on my last song (in case you couldn't tell by my title for the patch I was using).
It may be obtained, here. |

Granted I'm just a noob compared to you guys
But I've heard some pretty nice sounds come out of Thor ranging from
Warm pads to nice sounding leads..
To some pretty hektic sounds..
Personally I would have trouble making most of them lol
But I think overall Thor can produce your nice leads..
Nexus is a rom synth isn't it? |

| O yah...Crystal is very good for soft and fine timbres, one if its strengths, besides being free. |

If it's not sampling, there a big chance thor can do it.
