Depending on the tone of the bass I sometimes like to add a touch of filtered delay to add some subtle mid range harmonics.
Just be careful not to over do it. |

No, damn it, just EQ
Rolling basslines is all about the sequence and synth programming I think.
For pumping basslines on the other hand, it's:
distortion
EQ
reverb
Compression
Sidechain
And in that order. And then add to that whatever the hell you please. |

Depends on the actual bass sound and how/whether it's layered. The lowest frequencies should be left alone with the exception of EQing. Higher frequencies (above 400Hz) can be enhanced with gentle delay to create rhythmic harmonics. |

This question comes by way too often. My genuine answer would be: whatever you like. If it sounds good it is good :). Last rolling bassline I did had bitcrusher, transient processors and eq on it.
That was on my Nifty & Nosey remix of Xetro's "Abrupt Interrupt" track by the way. |

Thinking back again , High-pass filters can get you those super high energy basslines like that one in 3rd moon-meltdown.
And then , theres Distortion for tb-303 lovers..
But then , EQ is still God of Basslines :) |
