T-Shirt Printing

I want to get a custom t-shirt printed. I sent an email to a local company near mine with my logo and got the following response:
| quote: | Hi there.
Having looked at the image, the best way to produce this is with a vinyl cad cut application. we do produce a lot of shirts using this so that would not be a problem.
Having said that, the size does mean that it would be expensive to produce.
Our cost to do this is: 160GRM BLACK TEE. FRUIT OF LOOM. @£2.75
3 COLOUR VINYL LOGO @£7.00
If you wish to proceed please confirm and state your deadline. |
Can anyone explain what they mean by 'vinyl cad cut application' please? Is that essentially just a heat transfer where they just iron the image on?
Cheers. |

cad cut means the heatpress material is cut from a roll of heat press material, like a blade will cut text or shape out of a roll.. as opposed to having an image digitally printed onto it and then a just cuting a square around the image.. if what your wanting is something that is just like text... i.e vector based.. then the 'cad cut' way would be best.. but if this t shirt printing company cant do a simple thing like that then theyre not worth bothering with
we do t shirt printing at my workplace.. as a side thing,
send me your file and your adress and i can make you one up
it would cost about a fiver plus p&p if you supply the shirt |

Jay ya cunt! I forgot you did this sort of thing (did this sort of thing?) for a living. I'll send you what I've got on facebook tomorrow. Given what you've just said in your post I don't think this cad cutting malarkey is the way to go for my image but perhaps you can tell me the best way to approach this is.
Speak soon.
