Just saw a cool episode on 60 minutes about hackers n . they even used an example from facebook that i recently recently received (thank god for firefox).

The most surprising thing i saw the was that a lot of these hackers are REALLY young. Looked like they were in middle school and mostly from Russia.

I know there is some recent malware that just came out and is now affecting the ability of my companys software app from launching (along with other programs).

thought it was a very interesting episode.

any thoughts?

I been safeguarding all work computers since 2 weeks ago. Those of you who dont have any protection, I suggest getting some right quick, this ones real nasty.

Just google conflicker virus.

That's speculation. The Variant C is set to download new instructions on April 1. I highly doubt it will be an April Fools Day attack because the millions of infected machines will need to receive instructions over the course of several days, through p2p sharing or by attempting to communicate with the author on 500 domains out of a list of 50,000. If this author(s) was going to launch an attack, they wouldn't do so until the several million machines were ready to proceed. IMO, this is just the next step toward beefing up their zombie network.

lol Billy. I used to run with kids like that in my teenage years. My friend was forced to bring down (rat out) a 12 year old in Canada who brought down major sites such as Yahoo back in the late 90s. Nothing new here. This is what happens when you give a kid a computer in their room at a young age. Not that it's a bad thing...you just have to be on the right side of the tracks to use the creativity and power you uncover. I wasn't stupid enough to target big or bad things. Just mostly IRC networks and such :p
