I think I'm a mix between 1(b) and 2. I wouldn't call myself cyber/candy (yes I know they're different) but at the same time I'm partial to a bit of hair spiking. I'm not a genius when it comes to knowing about the music but I know what I like and the main thing is to go out and listen to music I like whilst mixing with people similar to myself and just having a ing good time. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't also about the drugs, but I always look at it like this: If the music and people I like weren't there then I wouldn't go clubbing, but if the drugs weren't there I would still go.

I hope you've enjoyed this tour around my psyche. Thanks for reading.

LMAO, nice one bruv!

in the us, we tend to have these as well:

First-Timers - come decked out in a flannel A & F top paired with with a white structure undershirt and tommy jeans, look extremely uncomfortable and keep walking across the dance floor hands in pockets looking very concerned and serious, only there because one of the three up there dragged him along. Most are rolling and ting their pants bout it.

Breakers - Skinny white boys in wifebeaters, armpit hair sticking out a mile, insisting of doing the windmill in a circle to the likes of Universal nation, refusing to stick to their own, smaller break/jungle tent.

Yuppies - Think they are in a nice club, come in Gucci/Fendi/whathaveyou clad top, in high heels, borering on anorexic, often seen with with either the DJ wannabe, or in the VIP box. Known to travel in packs. Will chat only to First Timers and DJs themselves. Spend a lot of time in bathroom. Seem oblivious to the music.

think of more, this is a good thread!

many of these people still exist in the UK, and many more our age, due to the emergance of that vile tech-house crap (you know, techno mixed with funky house, *cringe*)that everyone seems to arserape these days! :whip:

andway back to the question in hand, im a cyberkid ;)

NOT a candykid

Some people can actually dress nicely and still dance and very much appreciate the music. I will categorize them.

College Kids @ UW-Madison - Dress in nice apparel. Dance our asses off. Very knowledgable about the DJs and the music, appreciate mixing skills and great sets. Also there to 'party'

TRUE SO TRUE!!! :haha:

In England I reckon you could narrow it down a bit into two categories of oldies...

1) THE WANNABE CYBER PENSIONERS
Old enough to be one of your grandparents, they didn't go out much in their day and/or feel that they missed out on something we've got. Wear more cyber gear and UV paint than anyone else in the club under the impression that they can be "one of the kids." This grants them full access to talk to all cybers and annoy the living out of you because their outfit, in their minds, automatically puts them in-with-the-in-crowd. They look ridiculous.

2) BACK IN THE DAY RAVERS
No its not the same as it was back in the days of acidhouse because if we hadn't moved on from the days of illegal raves beside the M25 clubbing would have dissolved quicker than you can say vicks inhaler. Talk all night about "back in the day" and how clubbing has become commercial. Probably wearing a grubby looking acid smiley T-shirt from the good old days, he holds himself entirely responsible for kids like us to being able to enjoy ourselves today. Oh and pills aren't what they used to be either but what you gonna do? Needs to start enjoying himself or off.
