Here's my review of "Road to the Unknown (RED)"

The first two tracks really got my attention because I wanted to figure out where this set was going. By doing this, I feel they are very fitting and made me feel like I was on a road to the unknown.

I loved it when the lyrics dropped around 11:00. Flavor, Les Djinns, Handelsjai, Det, bad dreams and sofa king were my favorite tracks.

I really like the transition from track 5 to 6.

As I stated earlier, I loved what you did at 38:00.

Initially, the first 38:00 minutes were my favorite, but after listening to it a few times the last part of the set grew on me.

The last two tracks (sofa king) were a nice, fitting ending to the set.

Overall, the transitions, track list, and flow of the set was very enjoyable.

Well Done.

:D

wow man. like i told you before i had many things to say. i just dont know where to start.

since i know you and jonathon really well i feel like you guys sound influences each other and hearing this mix i can see what flavor you bring to the table. like i said before, since i know you, i feel that your lack of exposure has maintained a solid flavor to your sound. there are songs i enjoy so much that i know wouldnt work on the dance floor because their too different or too 'weird' but in this mix you were not afraid to show that sound so i felt i knew where you were coming from and i appreciated that very much.

When i first listened to this set was when i was leaving norfolk to philly. so when the airplane was taking off and breaking through the troposphere onto the stratosphere it gave me a really cool feeling. lol. the long introduction was very very fittting for that take off. the song after the intro was pretty dope too because i dont really listen to that type of stuff but i did enjoy it man, seriously. its very very different. the song following too was different but i listened very closely. the 3rd track had notes on the higher bit of the octaves which felt really cool. i kept looking outside the window and the clouds and sun rays were complimented with a sick ass sound track. it definately sounded like some depeche mode type tones. this mix definately belongs on global underground or some kind of big underground label. the notes to the transition from Televised Green Smoke (Original Mix)- Carl Craig to les djins was in key but there seemed to be a colision of tones. but the track was still fitting. les djinns brings back so many damn memories. playing in the chicago snow, the girl i was dating then, my best friend from cali who originally introduced jiu jitsu to me. dope dope dope.

the following song was another one i liked listening to and taking a gander at the clouds and the cities below.

then the 'bubbly' song came in. i noticed you have an affinity for the 'bubbly' sound. lol. seriously man that was in your last mix (DJ DoN FiLi - Receptaculo de Prima Materia y Suenos Escondidos). it made me smile because i was like 'hah thats don fili aright.'

the finish was really cool too. overall i enjoyed the set thuroughly. if id ever start playing out more i would definately trust you with opening honors. if it was up to me id trust you (jonathon too) with opening honors for digweed and the like. you guys got a great sound and remind me of early sasha and digweed or night arkitechts.

ill definately be jammin this out over and over again. thanks a million bro!!!
