And ignorance is bliss. Unfortunately, I'm not ignorant, so I still expect a little bit more for my money than what is given by Opera, and will not accept less than my standards without putting in my $0.02.
By the way, I'm not sure about everyone else, but I'm not attacking Liquified, only Opera. I've lost the general direction of the "blame" being stated in this thread, but I support Devin's efforts... even if his choice of venues don't satisfy my desires 100% of the time. |

I'm not trying to attack Liquified...but he responded to me without really reading what I was saying. I'm not the most coherent person. So it's possible I'm not getting my point my cross without it being convoluted under a mile of tangents.
But no where in my message did I say (or intend to say) that I had more right to be at these EDM events than someone else. I was merely expressing my annoyance and confusion as to why some of these people are spending $50 to go out and then not listen to the music. Because they do make it harder for me to enjoy it. It's not all about me, I know this. They're just out doing whatever it is they do. I'm just saying, Opera in particular attracts these people and Opera is not a good venue to begin with. Combine this with the growing crowd of...annoying people, and the Liquified events are starting to become more trouble than they are worth sometimes.
But I have been very thankful for everything Liquified has done since I started going to clubs back whenever, and unfortunately this has been lost in all my whining.
I didn't start this thread, but since it was here, it seemed like a good opportunity to vent with the thread starter. I never intended to insult Liquified or the scene in general. Just the crowd at Opera. |

I'm not attacking liquified at all either. I think Devin has done a great job bringing some good people to town. I know we have a good scene, but not a huge one. And honestly our choice of venues does seem to be limited. I don't know much about The Mark or Bazzar, but am assuming they are much to small to hold a world renowned dj. Where do you enjoy clubbing Maggie? I know you have also had grievances with Wetbar, so obviously the problem isn't just Opera. In my opinion, clubs just tend to have mean staff and snobby patrons. I'm surprised they don't have bouncers outside picking and choosing who is "hot" enough to go in.
And Romz, get a grip man. When you first started posting you seemed pretty cool, but recently you've been nothing but an ass. All we are saying is if there are a few people trying to meet their favorite dj and there is still some time before closing, why not let them stay? |

No one has even said "omg i hate opera cuz they won't let me get teh autographz!"
It was just brought up as "If I had to say something bad about the staff at Opera, they are douche bags when it comes down to shaking the DJs hand and getting a picture."
He's just trying to insult people and cause trouble as usual. |
