Couldn't resist laying this wee bit of irony on ya: this happened in or near New York City, which has some of the strictest gun control laws in the country.
In fact, almost every recent major shooting in the U.S. has taken place either in "Gun-free zones" or cities/states with strict gun control.
It's a tragedy and I won't deny that, but let's not politicize it. |

yeah my cousin went to binghimtaon. its a pretty small town, ive been there before, and it really does seem weird that it happened there. |

Well, gun control is actually all over New York. It's just even stricter in NYC, where in addition to handguns, they also control rifles and shotguns. This shooting was with a handgun, which would have been banned/controlled anywhere in the state.
And if you live near a big city with strict gun control, firearms tend to be more difficult to obtain anyway, even if you're not right in the city. |

| Horrible things like this will just continue to occur, and people will seek to ban guns, thinking it will stop it. It won't. The people who commit these actions will always find ways to kill and maim. Absolutely nothing can be done to stop it. Sad but true. |

I love how Obama said that he's deeply saddened by these senseless acts of violence meanwhile he is maintaining a war in the middle east that has killed thousands of innocent people. The United States sells the most weapons out of any other country in the world and what..people think that none of those will make their into the hands of the wrong people that do stupid like this?
People need to stop talking about gun control when there are trigger happy hicks in Afghanistan and Iraq popping children in the head. There are roots to each problem. Guns are not like drugs that can be made in any household, they are made by government financed arms corporations and somewhere a long the way there is corruption that leaks unlicensed weapons into the hands of idiots, and even children. That's where this problem is occurring and that's where it needs to be stopped, at the root, before it branches out and there's absolutely no control. |
