Happy Start to the season! And for once, we NY baseball fans finally have real ballparks!

Citi Field is obviously way nicer than Shea and has what I would say is the best food selection I've seen in the majors. (Hanger steak at the Caesars club is definitely the best thing I've ever eaten at a game) Besides the blatant homage to the Brooklyn Dodgers (ebbets field rotunda and exterior), I do like the subtle homages to the NY Giants (green seats, black walls and orange foul poles and lines) and Shea (back of scoreboard with the big Budweiser ad). Pepsi Porch seats in the right field are definitely the best seats at the park. I wasn't happy that I can't see the game from all over the park and to be honest and the stadium has a bit of a warehouse feel to it.

Yankee Stadium has the best exterior to a ballpark I've ever seen. It's great to walk around the ballpark without being at the crammed tunnels and see the game form all angles. I got a real kick out of the fruit cart that's by the entrance. My favorite part to watch the game has to be by the bleacher cafe. It's great to know that people who have bleachers can buy alcohol and walk around the park.
However, I'm VERY annoyed that the Monument Park policies are the same as the old stadium (You'd think you can get to Monument Park anytime you want with the new stadium). Having said that, it's worth getting to the stadium early to get in line. |
