Refusing to be bound-in by trends, back turned to fickle and formulaic, cookie-cutter turntable filler, Dylan T. is a Toronto original who‘s been making underground waves in the city since the glory days of raves and shadowy warehouse parties. Having just completed recon after blowing away a packed house at Dirty Motor, Birthday Boy #1 celebrates 30 years on the planet by delivering a spicy paella of Italo, Acid and Classic House, smattered liberally with New Wave, No-Wave, Tech, Electro and a slew of other sounds that defy definition but that always lead to serious dancefloor Jit, Juke, Pop, Lock and even the incurable GitGitdown Syndrome.
If Techno is a science, then the man known to many as “Rouchos” is its Archimedes. Jaws hit the floor at our opener, as both the uninitiated and well-versed watched the master throw down an onslaught of dirty 4/4, running the range from rolling Tribal to Disco mashup to buzzsaw Industrial-strength beats.
