Enjoy, great set up you have there :) |
He's also opened himself/herself up to a load of flaming!
It's an amazing setup though and you'll have a load of fun on it.
I was more surprised that you spent the guts of 3k euro on a setup without knowing if this was really something you were definitely into.
I'd love to have a listen to the KRK's (not RPK)... They're suppose to be amazing. Did you get the 5's, 6's or the 8's? |

how much you selling that 909 for? i don't like effects, but that cross fader is teh sex.
back to the topic...a properly produced track doesn't need efx (although looping and a reverb/echo might be useful). |

Hey no hijack lol...
I got the 8's, and Ive been looking @ DJ equipment since I was about 15, I am not 20 years old, and I only listen to dance music ... I do like other genres as well dance music just makes me the happiest. I also played in a jazz band for 4 years so I have some background in music... And yes it was quite scary splurging on this gear lol... |

I have a Pio DJM-3000 and the only two things I really love about it are the flange & echo, I can't live without 'em.
On the other hand, I could sure use some proper EQ's :( |

whats wrong with the eq's just wondering, might be a future mixer of mine. are the cuts too low of db? or not enough bands for ya? |

I suck at technical stuff (among many other things), so sorry if I can't describe it the way it should, be, described!
My problem is pretty much what you guessed, the lows aren't low enough. And the ranges are too wide, meaning that the low affects the mid, and vice versa. So an extra band wouldn't exactly hurt. :p
It only goes down to +/- 26db and thats not nearly enough to kill the bass, thats why I jizzed my pants when I used A&H for the first time.
But if your thinking of getting one, I'm not saying you shouldn't. Especially if you get a cmx-3000 to accompany it, doesn't get much cheaper than that. |

| i find pioneers rack mount dj stuff quite interesting because of the value. i had a feeling about the db slopes though, thanks for that friend! |

FX have a time and a place... never say never, but subtlety is the key.
It always makes me laugh when I see people on here go on about how FX are crap and cheap etc then start worshipping people like Zabiela... naming no names ;) |

I love a little delay here and there.. No harm in a touch of reverb to add a little drama as well.
With the plethora of effects on offer from Traktor i've actually reduced the list to about 5 or so. |

agreed, but sadly many people think that since they paid a lot of money for their unit, they must ruin every track with constant flanging or just doing a bunch of horrible that sounds like a robot raping a blender.. |

| there is a correlation in my area with effect abuse and not knowing how to dj... just saying. |

| Deadmau5 loves his effects... Sometimes it sounds good sometimes it's a little over kill.. |
