How to import regular fxb/fxp files into the V-Station?

Hi,

I m using ableton and I tried a few times to load presets into my v-station. On the "Global" page you can only import .syx or .mid files but nor the common fxb or fxp - files.

But googling arounf I found out that some folks are able to load those files somehow... maybe someone could explain the way of getting those files into the v-station ;)

thanks a lot!:toocool:

In Ableton where all your effects etc go. You'll have a VST box there's 2 little boxes 1 for importing banks & the other is to save. You can find them next to the pull down box.

Hope this helps

well you mean that little box, which is always comming up as soon you load a vst or au unit - i guess?

Well, I only have a botton to save the present bank on the really right side and next to it only a button to look for presets on my system - but the files which are found are just the factory ones.

thanks for your response, but the problem isn t solved yet...

...even when i browse to the folder where I put those fxp-files there are not shown.

If you're on Windows, you will have to change Explorer to specifically look for .fxb files.

You cannot load up those files from the V-Station window itself I think. In Fl Studio, I can open them by looking in the FL Wrapper VST options.

Okay I got it :D

(explain it here what I got so far in order to help someone in future)

I was using the V-Station as an AU-PLug-in - you can load banks (fxb) or single presets (fxp) into the v-station only when you install the software as a vst-unit! (In ableton you can load presets only within vst-units) So that s the only way to load fxp files into the v-station which otherwise only excepts mid-files.
That's the case with the v-station - but might be different with other software plug-ins were you can load fxb or fxp files direct within the plug-in itself.

interessting case is: If you are using logic it seems that you have the v-station only as an au-unit. I guess in that case you have to convert the fxp format to mid.
