Tasmania has it's own newspaper now? Damn.
Seriously though, it almost looks like the onion. like "Chook Video" really screams of awesome journalism, no? :p |

haha, dude you realise the 'chook video' is all over the australian news sites today? i wont defend the mercury though, its pretty average. i do write in occasionally tho :toothless people piss me off so i like to piss them off in return. and there's a lot of stupid tasmanians.
funnily enough the editors almost always scrub my email of a thinly-veiled insult  |

whereas canberra, where im from...highest IQs in the country. eddie mcquire told us so!
to be fair, its not the IQ here that's the problem. its the 'small state' syndrome where anything that even resembles change gets the third degree. parochial as .

My gf's bio-dad lives there, so we've been down a few times.
He took us for a drive around, to see some random . We were going through some suburb (can't remember which) and he's describing it as dodgy, and saying stuff like 'you wouldn't really want to live in this area, the houses are nasty etc.' then 10 mins later we're in a desirable suburb.... It all looks the ing same :wtf: I could see no difference whatsoever, except perhaps the proximity to the 'embassy zone'.
Can't stand the place. It seems so dead and artificial. It just has a weird feeling, maybe from being a 'planned city' I guess.
Tassie I would enjoy for the nature aspect though, it's pretty ing special. I really want to plan a trip down there at some point. |
