What will make Mark Knight/Toolroom Knights stand out from the other parties in NYC?
As I say I want this to reignite the passion of New York clubbing, no bull, no bottle service, no listening to cheese. I want to create a place for music lovers and club characters to feel part of - a new movement and something fresh. Pacha is perfect for this, we’ll create an ambiance and musical soundtrack to leave a mark on NY club history. I’ve not felt this excited since I first started my residency at Ministry of Sound back in 2005. Its like starting from scratch, building somethimg from the bottom up. I cant wait!!!! |

Hate to be a downer but he's a bit hot on himself, eh? New York City's passion for house and electronic music is just fine, thank you... "Building from the bottom up" is a bit of a slap in the face to all the producers, DJs, promoters, and kickass parties/venues working hard for years to show our hometown love through music, and put NYC on the map again... It's like Erick Morillo going to the most commercial club in Berlin and telling them he's gunna start an underground revolution in their music scene....
I'm sure I'm over-analyzing it, but I'll be spending my time in the basement where the real New York passionate DJs are at, banging it out... |

That quote was a bit much, but I'm hoping he was just relating his OWN personal experiences in nyc to this because this city s on most others in terms of the quality and quantity of djs we have passing through here on any given night. I'm willing to give him a chance though and see what he brings to the table tonight, I have been hearing nothing but great things since his last show. Of course I will be spending most of my time in the basement too ;) |
