Does anyone have anything to say about this piece of equipment? I've never mixed anything before and I thought this might be a good place to start. It seems fairly capable from the youtube videos I've seen demoing it. It has a built-in soundcard for headphones to keep the computer's soundcard free for the main output.
My main concern is that since this is new to me, I don't want to invest a lot of money in equipment that I may not want to use in a year's time. Therefore I thought a midi controller is probably about as cheap as it gets. |

| It's not bad for what it is. If you're considering to actually get serious with djing, you might want to think about getting a cheap pair of cdjs and a basic mixer. |

I own the RMX console and as a beginner I have to say it is really easy to use and set up. The power source is direct from the USB cable and it has 2 inputs and outputs. So if in the future you want to get turntables/CDJs you can use them in your setup and you can also use an external mixer if you want to.
It also comes with a demo of virtual DJ so if you don't already have a dj program you can use it and possibly upgrade it if you dig it. I'm using Traktor Pro atm and it works extremely well for the small gigs I do.
The buttons though seem a little cheap but thats what you get for a starter controller. Compared to say the Omni Control or the Total Control, there's a lot more buttons and I find it easy to set-up loops, cues, and do effects.
If you're on a budget, by all means this is one sturdy piece of equipment. I'm extremely happy with buying it. |

For that price, you could get a decent full on mixer.
Something to think about. |
