A totally different breed of release now and a first for this very young Belgian producer who goes by name of Manu Riga.
Taï Chi Girl comes in 2 flavours: the UK Progressive Mix which is a blend of progressive sounds with a flavour of breaks topped with chilly moods and the Yuri Swexx Remix which is a cross breed between dark progressive melodies and a very deep chilly moody drive.
This release isn't necessarily a player for all the DJ's getting this, but most definitely a beautiful release that deserves some attention here.

MiniTech Project (DJ Faroukh) was Born in London, England. Having traveled and lived in several destinations within the United Kingdom, United States, India, and currently residing in the Netherlands, he has had exposure to all sorts of sounds in Music. With a keen ear and collection of dance music combined with a flare for technology, his career as a DJ started over a decade ago with performances spanning the globe. Initially playing more clubby sounds, he was introduced to more and more intelligent dance music and found himself more inspired, thus developing a taste for a more stimulating electro-sensory experience. After being firmly established as a DJ, he was also introduced to music production and engineering to continue to try and push the boundaries of this experience.
The current electronic dance scene inspired Dj Faroukh to create the MiniTech Project sound which constantly blurs the lines of several cutting edge electronic genres but still retaining a signiture of the atmosphere. Last Train To Mexico by Chantola
Henrik Kantola, aka ‘Chantola’ journeyed into the world of electronic music at the start of the millennium. Inspired by some of the top jocks and a self driving passion, this young Finnish talent began to produce in 2003.
Beginning with Acid Pro and a hardware sequencer, Chantola played with basic loops and short tracks. As the results came, so did his hunger to buy newer equipment and software.
It wasn’t until 2007 that Chantola really found his break. Teaming up with a Helsinki based producer Jussi Vuorivirta, he formed a duo. Spiritus & Asper was born and full tunes began to materialize. In December 2008, their first completed production “Passion” was snapped up by Oulu based Wavedata Records, due out in June this year. As the momentum flowed, so did the label signings. With tunes set for release on Black Hole Recordings and Baroque, this young duo seem to be doing something right.
They describe their style as being “versatile”. If it’s Techno, House, Tech-House, Deep-House or Progressive… Spiritus & Asper can do it. 2009 promises to be an important year for the duo as the expectations rise. Keep your ears pealed… As you will be sure to hear their tunes working their way into a whole host of DJ sets.

Esperanza EP by Sean Bay
Sean Bay is a DJ:Producer from Paris. His story with music started since he was 12 years old studying music and playing the "oud" instrument.
His music life took a new path at the age of 18 with his interest in the Rock, Blues, Progressive Metal then Funk & Smooth Jazz. For more than 10 years, Sean Bay played guitar and joined many bands in Tunis, Los Angeles, New York and Paris.
His musical life took another twist in 2007, fulfilling his more than growing interest in the Electronic Music arena. He's DJ/Producer since the end of 2007 and quickly gained attention on his "moody and dreamy" productions. Since his first productions he increased his Progressive House/Progressive Trance production cadency and signed with many labels.
Sean bay also collaborated with many talented artists like Jay Sustain, , Stephanie Farhat - a Lebanese pop-rock singer/author/composer - and Kesang Marstrand - a US folk singer/author/composer-.
In 2008, heobtained residency at the official NRJ Music Awards 2009 lounge in Paris and played in pretty much every French club.

Frank De Wulf - The B-Sides - Volume 5
Frank was born in 1968 as the youngest of three boys. Of course with 2 older brothers hanging around, he was introduced to all kinds of music, not just the mainstream tracks you heard on the radio.
He must have been about 10 when he started experimenting with tape decks, later he used his fathers 2-track recorder to make longer versions of hit records.
In high school, he got invited by one of his classmates to visit the local radio station. Impressed with their set-up, he asked if he could try mixing on their 2 Technics SL1200 MK2 turntables. It felt great!
From there he got my own radio show called Seventh Heaven Radio. With Frank on the turntables and another guy doing the talking, they brought a whole new flavor to the dance hits of that time. By re-editing, remixing and manipulating the tracks, he wanted to create a particular atmosphere for the listeners and give them the idea that they were experiencing a live set from home.
Frank De Wulf was always into music with a strong, original sound and rhythm no matter the genre: from new wave, dance, electro European and American experimental post-punk with Kraftwerk and the Art of Noise as two of his major influences or dare he say muses. That fresh, energetic layered electro sound was something he aspired to bring myself, by creating my own music as well as through my work as a DJ.
After a while people started noticing his work and around 1985, he was asked to do a show by a more dance oriented radio station called SIS.
?At the time he was regularly, DJ-ing in 2 of Ghents dance cafes. It was an excellent way to practice his skills and since he was still at school, these DJ gigs brought some extra money into his piggy bank … because he was also saving up to buy the Yamaha S7000 sampler and an ATARI 1024 Computer. The new beat movement had just started and he started to feel the need to create music rather than just mix other peoples work more and more. So he started to produce his own tracks and make remixes of existing tracks.
One of his first releases as musician and producer was the 12-inch Acid Rock track with his alter ego band Rhythm Device on Music Man Records. Thanks to Olivier Pieters, resident DJ at the famous night club Boccacio (one of the Belgian clubs where New Beat really took off), he could test run the track. To Franks surprise and great relief, the crowd loved it. The track became a big hit, and is now seen as a bit of a classic, or so hes told.
His work as a DJ gave him the idea to make a record just for DJs. He wanted to create a kind of tool for mixing tracks while still keeping the familiar theme going. He started to work on several tracks, but due to a lack of time never really got to finish them. He had a series of beats, mixes and samples from international dance hits and newly created sounds that were not really fit to be released as a-side records. So still eager to release them, he decided to call them The B-Sides. The record went through the roof and he ended up releasing 4 volumes plus remixes of them.
Due to the success of the B-sides, Frank was asked to give live performances as well as do DJ sets all over the world. He travelled around Europe, the States and Australia. It was a remarkable period, you meet up with other performers and DJs, who where all starting their musical careers, people like Joey Beltram, Moby, Derrick May, Sven Vath. They all shared this great appreciation for each other’s work and Frank really felt that people understood his work. With each new sample or musical idea there was this immense reaction on the dance floor. He really felt that the crowd was on his side, the whole time pushing him on and inspiring him to break new boundaries. During his career, there was also Renaat, the owner of RandS Records, who kept him inspired and focused. Renaats energy, drive and strong believe in the success of quality dance music had a major influence on Franks career.
He decided to start up his own record labels which gave him more creative freedom to release his tracks and do production work for other artists like remixes for all kinds of artists in and outside the new beat scene like The Shamen and Erasure but also The Orb, Jam & Spoon, Orbital, Biosphere,…
At the end of the nineties Frank felt, he had reached the limits of what he could do with music at that period in time and decided to concentrate on another great love of his, the world of film and post-production.
He founded GRID a post-production company specialized in visual effects and motion design for commercials, video clips and films. He kept his musical career going at the back burner doing the odd remix or DJ set.
So there you are… even though Franks work kept him quite busy and was creatively challenging, music is a part of who he is. Somewhere in the back of his mind, he always knew that this time would come. And now, he can no longer ignore this need to make music, this need to create and let the magic flow again. He hopes you will all enjoy the ride.
Some explanation about the tracks by the man himself.
1. The Other Side - This track was started as an experiment with the new software I use, but as sometimes happens, the unexpected combination of nice sounds became a rather simple track with a very familiar feel to it. Some of my friends that heard the track immediately thought that it was their fav. of the new B-sides, so quickly it was decided to add it to the series new release.
?2. Compression - Part2 - I Like It DirtE - based on the original that really started the whole series, this one is a sort of follow up, with todays more pumping sound possibilities. the sample I used is something that fits the title, meaning dirty, a bit overdone, compression can sound Dirty but nevertheless powerful and the way I LIKE IT.
?3. Between 12 and 01 AM - maybe the more cheesy one of the lot, but nevertheless I really wanted this track to be part of the new release. I am absolutely sure that if played in the right place and in it's full version, it becomes a trancy track that will be stock in your head. Especially the mid part i think brings it to another level, that lifts the track away from just a cheesy track to a very acceptable dance floor track.
?4. The Whistleman - Deep, organic, dark, and with a very high light tune on top. It works for me, i really like it and if played late on the evening will certainly entrance people...
?5. Wishflower 2 - As in the previous B-Sides, there were the typical dance tracks, and hits, but also the more emotional or experimental tracks. This one is certainly in that last category, having a trancy, breakbeat, filled with the right emotional synth tones and pads. This track will probably be re-released on the album Travel South coming out this summer.
?6. Expo 909 : Pure beats and a techno synth hit is all this one needs, use it to start a new direction in your sets and quickly mix it with your favorite techno tune! Absolutely B-sides material.

Gecko by Pedro Mercado vs Karada
One year after their first release on Creamminal Records (Something EP), Pedro Mercado & Karada are back with their second one, called Gecko EP. This new EP contains 3 original tracks:

MiniTech Project (DJ Faroukh) was Born in London, England. Having traveled and lived in several destinations within the United Kingdom, United States, India, and currently residing in the Netherlands, he has had exposure to all sorts of sounds in Music. With a keen ear and collection of dance music combined with a flare for technology, his career as a DJ started over a decade ago with performances spanning the globe. Initially playing more clubby sounds, he was introduced to more and more intelligent dance music and found himself more inspired, thus developing a taste for a more stimulating electro-sensory experience. After being firmly established as a DJ, he was also introduced to music production and engineering to continue to try and push the boundaries of this experience.
The current electronic dance scene inspired Dj Faroukh to create the MiniTech Project sound which constantly blurs the lines of several cutting edge electronic genres but still retaining a signiture of the atmosphere. Elements of minimal house, progressive house, progressive psy, techno, and tech house can be identified at the moment and with the ever growing list of genres and sub genres, this list of influences will likely grow as well.
MiniTech Project is an exciting new journey bringing over 10 years of experience and influence in electronic dance music into tomorrow. Yes this guy is indeed a very productive producer as you sax him releasing recently Waver Program.
