but it is a mixture of meat which is why i said that. i can see that they are kebabs... they look a lot like the kebabs that the persians make.

For people that know...the picture I know is how its served. If anyone serves it to you different, its some kinda phony act and them trying to make it look pretty or some ...it just wrong.

Its served in a lepina (the bread there) and with onions and kajmak.. just how it looks.

The bread traditionally called Somun, but the word has generally not been accepted outside of central Bosnia.

Oh and btw the REAL cevapi come from Bosnia. If someone tells you otherwise they are lying. To be specific, city of Travnik in Bosnia has the best cevapi in the world!

wrong! Sarajevo does :D

EDIT: P.S. Real cevapi are made with lamb. Not the main meat, but a little lamb is mixed with beef, specifically lamb fat. This gives it the flavour, taste, and texture.

this is probably 25% of the recepie, there is set of items that are added that noone truly knows, there is a way to prepare them that noone truly knows, there is a specific way to BBQ them that noone really knows except for the few Bosnian families that run the restaurants downtown Sarajevo, and that have moved to some sorrounding cities.

that's called a karadjordjeva, or loosely translated to "royal schnitzel".. sometimes its jokingly referred to as the "girl's dream", lol.. anyways, its a rolled veal steak stuffed with kajmak: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kajmak

cevapi are on that plate only because that order is a mixed meat platter, otherwise cevapi are served separately in somun

The best cevapi I had was in Old Dubrovnik, served in the mixed meat platter, ughhhhh so good! Had some AMAZING krempita after for dessert...

If this meet is on May 22nd it would definately be tough for me to make it as DEMF is the next day...:(
