Universal -
Very deep sounding evolving progression.
Sounds like a beginning or a lull piece as part of an over-all set. The elements have a nice thick texture to them. I could easily hear this track developing into something much more complex.
Legend -
Begins with a funk/uplifting vibe. Again, this appears to be part of a larger packing that listened to, on the back end of Universal, presents an evolution in intensity.
The pad sound, musically, sounds as though it ought to have a sharper attack - something you could introduce over time, if you wanted to.
I like the slow, panning synth hook, throughout.
Dimension -
Moving on to a Latin sounding rhythm, replete with bongos&/congas, this track starts out, very nicely, as the others, slowly introducing elements with an almost demure sense of tact. It's not an evolution of energy from the prior work, but a change of pace.
The lead, I wanted, to be almost more psycho-acoustically nuanced, perhaps with a resonant filter - and a little cleaner, but if that's an element you're developing, never-mind what I want.
Another -
Starting with a dark, funky kind of vibe, this leads into an almost eerie atmosphere pad that supports a rich, layered plucked synth. I like the tweaks, but want the music, for this one, to develop.
It feels like driving, at night, in a Lexus - very smooth and not really knowing what's going to become of the evening - an exciting sense of mystery.
Pulsation -
The Lexus wound up being parked by a valet at a club and this hot shorty emerged from the passenger side with this oscillating swagger visible through a slinky, black dress - short, but not slutty short. You toss the keys to the valet, right as the gated chords come in. In the end of that moment, your hand deftly catches up with the small of Shorty's back and up the red carpet, you saunter, past the line of clubbers waiting in line to get a brief nod from the beefy door-man who thinks nothing of looking for your name on a list before simply raising that rope...
Beautiful.
Another simple lead line comes in, and I want it to develop further...
Overall:
Nice mixes, on all of these, and, true to the fashion of material you've furnished in this forum, once again, you've developed rich, mesmerizing mixes that pull my attention into them.
They're excellent beginnings, which force the listener to ask my favorite question, "What the is this guy going to do?" As much as all of these were simple beginnings, the introductions and layering of the instrumentation is anything but predictable. Prediction, however, is also the last thing that comes to mind.
I'm hearing the textures of the synths and enjoying the relationships in sonic space and, like another in a series of welcome guests, another element joins the vamping loop. |

Thanks alot for the comments Eddie.
The places you say you wanting more, or different development, i agree completely, its good to get my own thoughts confirmed.
I now know more about what i should do further with these tracks.
Thanks again, very useful comments. :)
And yeah about prediction, the great thing is that i dont even know myself, i just load up a synth or patch and see where it takes me by playing something. |
