Under Ararien Label, X-Cube has this perfect touch in order to make a variety of people travel through his art which is mostly varied in terms of electronic music styles like Techno, Tech-house, Minimal-tech or Progressive.
Throughout the years, X-Cube seized many opportunities in terms of improving his techniques, feeling of the crowd, and diversifying his “ear” to many styles by sharing many nights with artists like : : Miss Kittin, Misstress Barbara, Thomas Krome, Alex Bau, Preach, Alex Axx Koss, Yaz, Chris Liberator, Anton X, Laflèche, Vega, Mini, Creator, Pink Feria, Maus, Mateo Murphy, Bender , Jeff Fontaire, Wizz, Kal and many more. No doubt he is the artist, as polyvalent and crowd-understanding.
Moreover, after creating some relationships with different artists, you may have already heard him in different places such as: le Parking , Stereo Bar , Dagobert(Qc), Mile End Bar, Balroom, S.A.T, Helsinki(Ottawa), L'Académie, Salon Daomé, De Lima, Soho Lounge Club ,Velvet Club , Terrasses Bonsecours et Winter Bar or certain after-hours, as for instance : Aria, Circus, Gravity, Cube, Daylight, Level, Gruv, L'Exode, L'After , the Notre-dame and the Turbo. He also participated in many events: Montreal en Lumiere, Lollipop 5, Silver 2005, I Love Montreal 2, and also at RaveMontreal 13, 14, 16, 18 and 20. He also performed at one of the Piknic Electronik in 2006.
After being a free agent, he is now very proud to be part of the Akarien team.
G.O'BRIEN, also known by his alias G IN THE BOX, is one of the chosen few whose place in the rave scene was forged through hard work and unequivocal talent. In summer of 1997, at a Montreal event called Phase Cat (Phase four), G.O'Brien found his calling with the rave scene that night and has never looked back. It was in fact with Montreal's most respected underground promoters, MINI-TANK, that G.O'BRIEN commenced his journey into the night life and simultaneously inscribed his name in the electronic music culture of this fine city.
After five years, his hard work and perseverance have finally paid off. In fact, following his first studio mix session in 2000 with the Beat Buzz records release of the Rave-o-Lution 2 compilation, G.O'Brien comes back at us once more with a cd turntable mix more in tune with his own sound… Superstition Audio files mixed by G.O'Brien. He has a very open minded approach to his music and live performances. He also did a compilation for the 10th anniversary of Superstition.
Between 2002 and 2007, G.O'Brien has played over 400 different performances in Canada, the United States, France and Chili. He has been dj resident in Montréal's internationally known Aria Night Club, Sona after hours and Circus after hours. He has opened for headliners such as Sven Vath, Joey Beltram, Vitalic, Felix da Housecat, Misstress Barbara and Infected Mushroom.
In 2008, G.O'brien associated with Akarien Productions, known for the famous Electro-Chic night at the SAT (Society for Arts and Technology). His music goes from electro, to minimal & techno! G.O'brien is not recognized as a purist, he's a versatile dj, using different musical styles to tell people a story!
