Rough time getting into Circus last night, there was another party going on in the warehouse across from Arena (cowboy hats?) so all three parking lots were already full when I got there with my friend about 10:20!! By the time we drove over to another remote lot, paid for parking, and walked around the fences up to Santa Monica Blvd. and back down to Circus, it was just after 10:30. Then, although the email I got showed "free parking, entrance and drink until 11 p.m." at the top, down in the actual flyer it said "free drink before 10:30," so was a little put off that they were no longer giving out drink tickets. On one hand, it's great getting all those freebies, but I do come to Circus a lot more because of them and would just like to get what's being advertised. There weren't that many people inside once I got in, so I hope people didn't go away because of the hassles...

Once inside, it was a great night at Circus though! Ran into so many TA friends outside, and TA Apeattack won the raffle too...congratulations!

Then when DJ Tatana came on, the night just turned to magic...she was so deeply into the music, I don't think she ever stopped moving from the time she came on until the time she left!

Her set started off with a bit of a House feel, then really kicked in with Signalrunners' "Meet Me in Montauk"and ended on the other side with what I would call Tech Trance...some of those wavy, warped sounds that just made the whole floor go crazy! Like much of Switzerland, a camera cannot do Tatana justice...you must see the video which I will post soon. :)

Good crowd all the way until the end of her set, which came so fast I just couldn't believe it. Seemed like Tatana was just getting warmed up when the next DJ came to take over. I noticed her signal "just one more" and "is it time to go?", so I think she easily could have closed the night! Also very cool to run into Matt Cerf and Jaren on the dance floor!

Was an amazing, fun filled night, I think DJ Tatana will be back soon! :D Oh yeah, the rest of my pix are HERE

+1 on in2muzikk's review! my sentiments exactly. plus may I add :

TATANA played a nice set, I really feel she should have closed the night out!! She started on the progressive trance tip, then she was getting into some good trance...I wanted her set to keep on going!!!

Also want to add that maybe it was just me but CIRCUS was extra loud last night. Since I sometimes during the set go condom-less (ie without earplugs), I have to say my left ear suffered a bit. Does the sound-system really have to be that loud? Tell me : if we knock it down a few notches, do you think people would dance less? Cause I certainly wouldn't even notice, I think I would dance more :thepirate

Anyhow, great night, and get ready to fire up those CDJ-800's baby CUZ I'M BACK ONLINE!!!! :haha: :happy2: :tongue3

I realllllllyyyyy loved her set.

I was very surprised to see that there was no parking available at 10:35pm in the usual Las Palmas parking lot. My friend payed $10 for valet parking to make sure we got in by 11pm, but as it turned out... it was worth it :P

I agree that Circus gets a bit too loud for my taste from time to time. This is why I now wear earplugs there. (I've discussed this before in previous threads.)

That's funny because the week previous the sound system was so quiet you could hear me talking from the back of the room all the way up to the dj booth.

At Duderstadt? Because I thought it was way too loud that night as did everyone I was with.

I usually have extra pairs of E-20s on me at the club in case anyone wants to buy some.

The prob I always have with Circus is more of the acoustics. The system is always out of tune with the treble way too intense (piercing) and the system is just completely unbalanced with bass only coming from one side.

A system can be blazing loud and not be torture on the ears if it's tuned well. Like 1015 in the old days. :-p

CIRCUS used to have some guy years ago that had glasses and semi-long hair, he used to tune the audio all the time, I remember :)

but that said, I think they need to tune the audio a bit, I think it's better for it to be a little lower than a little higher on the volume scale, especially for mids and highs, since those are the most dangerous

um, I wish I could do it, but I don't know how to work on that wall of sound (im talking about the main room here) :D
