I guess you are all expecting me to diss it and say how it was......i really want to just because it was the Rupublic on a saturday night, and not Gatecrasher....but the thing is, I can't. I have to say it was one of the best nights i've had outside Gatecrasher in a long time.

It was purely bizzarre when we walked in, Barry White was playing on the entrance dance floor, and a load of ben shermans seemed to be really enjoying themeslves. Understandabley i nearly turned around and walked straight out then....but i didn't, we went into the onto the main dancefloor, and convinced ourselves that when Andi Durrant came on he would save the day with some trance.........

....and do you know what......HE DID!

Just so you know what i mean, here is a partial tracklisting (all the ones that i can remember) appoligies for any mistakes, but i had been somewhat glugging at the vodka.

Freefall - Skydive (opening track)
Planet Perfecto - Bullet in the Gun
Ayla - Ayla
Push - Strange World
Sinead O Connor - Troy (Push Remix)
System F - Out of the blue
Iio - Rapture (Armin Van Burren mix)
Jan Johnston - Flesh (Tiesto Mix)
Underworld - Born Slippy
Binary Finary 1999 (Gouryella mix)
Paul Oakenfold - Southern Sun (Gabriel and Dresden unplugged mix)
Faithless - God is a DJ
Way Out West - The Gift (Club mix)
Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar (Three 'n' One mix)
Barthez - On the move
Kosheen - Hide you (Creamer and K mix?)
Tiesto - Flight 643
Faithless - We come one
Delerium - Silence (Tiesto's I.S.O.S. mix)
Evoke - Arms of Loren

Not bad eh? The atmosphere obviously wasn't up to GC standard, but i did get a random Ben Sherman clad man hugging me durning the breakdown of Troy...so it wasn't all bad.

Congratulations to Andi Durrant.....a ing MINT set!

Not that i noticed? there were loads of beer boys of course, but there didnt seem to be that many of them in the trance room.

that don't sound like a bad tracklist, although not many new tunes on there, a tracklist with the beerboy in mind :p

Well to be fair it wad billed as "comercial dance" which we naturally expected to be castles in the sky/Lasgo/other cheese..... was loads better than that!

hehehe, if you have been to sugarshack in boro, you will know beerboys + superclub = pilled up beerboys = no fights :)

Looking at the tracklist I can see that for what they're are trying to do they're doing quite well but it's certainly not the trip form far away into sheffield. As long as this doesn't tarnish the ture GC night then I'm not too bothered by it.
