Bigger Pitch Bend Range in Logic Pro

Hey guys,
I have started playing around with pitch but i find when i pitch it to the max it is not high enough using the pitch bend on my midi keyboard.
Also the pitch au's built into logic only go up 12c.
I just wanted to know how can i increase the range for the pitch bend so i can get a higher pitch on my sounds then currently.
And no i dont want to use notes, i like the way the pitch bend sounds.
I hope that makes sense.

start with -12 on the pitchbend, then work up to +12. That's +24 semitones. Works vice versa too.
Other than that, try a real slow portamento. |

it's in the manual FYI.
For many instruments like ES2, ES1, EXS24, there's an arrow, when you click on the arrow, there's a pitch bend range, I remember you can go up to 24 semitones if not more.
