This should make you wonder if this was released on purpose to maybe distract people of the worsening economy. I am not into conspiricies really but this seems fishy.... see below.... From CNN
Army: 3 vials of virus samples missing from Maryland facility
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Missing vials of a potentially dangerous virus have prompted an Army investigation into the disappearance from a lab in Maryland.
The Army's Criminal Investigation Command agents have been visiting Fort Detrick in Frederick, Maryland, to investigate the disappearance of the vials. Christopher Grey, spokesman for the command, said this latest investigation has found "no evidence of criminal activity."
The vials contained samples of Venezuelan Equine Encephalitis, a virus that sickens horses and can be spread to humans by mosquitoes. In 97 percent of cases, humans with the virus suffer flu-like symptoms, but it can be deadly in about 1 out of 100 cases, according to Caree Vander Linden, a spokeswoman for the Army's Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases. There is an effective vaccine for the disease and there hasn't been an outbreak in the United States since 1971.
The vials had been at the research institute's facility at Fort Detrick, home of the Army's top biological research facility, for more than a decade. The three missing vials were among thousands of vials that were under the control of a senior scientist who retired in 2004. When another Fort Detrick scientist recently inventoried the retired scientist's biological samples, he discovered that the three vials of the virus were missing. The original scientist's records about his vials dated back to the days of paper-and-pen inventories.
During the investigation, the retired scientist and another former Fort Detrick researcher cooperated with investigating agents and, according to Vander Linden, they came back to the facility to help look for the vials.
Vander Linden said the investigators know that several years ago an entire freezer full of biological samples broke down and all the samples had to be safely destroyed. But a complete inventory of what was in the freezer was not done before the samples were destroyed. Vander Linden said there's a "strong possibility" the vials were in that freezer and destroyed, but that isn't known for sure.
This investigation comes two months after all research at the research institute facility at Fort Detrick was halted for a complete computer-based inventory of all disease samples at the fort. That inventory is expected to be complete before summer and may help solve the mystery of the three missing vials, officials said.
The Army investigation is in its final stages and is expected to be closed soon. |

I would not doubt it considering they sent anthrax to their own people a few years back and it was later confirmed it originated from inside the USA. Was an excellent way to push the news onto a new subject while removing the important stuff. Kind of like how the latest torture scandal has completely disappeared from the headlines since this swine flu bull.
Mexico just announced that the swine flu did not originate in their country but the blame is being pushed on them by you know who. So far no pigs have been tested for the virus Mexico.

It was plastered all over the news that it was coming from the "terrorists" if I recall correctly.
I am sure Osama was sitting in his cave licking letters shut to be sent off.

FBI was told to blame Anthrax scare on Al Qaeda by White House officials
One of the few journalists I trust, James Gordon Meek - also a friend of mine - has the following article up at New York Daily News:
WASHINGTON - In the immediate aftermath of the 2001 anthrax attacks, White House officials repeatedly pressed FBI Director Robert Mueller to prove it was a second-wave assault by Al Qaeda, but investigators ruled that out, the Daily News has learned.
After the Oct. 5, 2001, death from anthrax exposure of Sun photo editor Robert Stevens, Mueller was "beaten up" during President Bush's morning intelligence briefings for not producing proof the killer spores were the handiwork of terrorist mastermind Osama Bin Laden, according to a former aide.
"They really wanted to blame somebody in the Middle East," the retired senior FBI official told The News.
On October 15, 2001, President Bush said, "There may be some possible link" to Bin Laden, adding, "I wouldn't put it past him." Vice President Cheney also said Bin Laden's henchmen were trained "how to deploy and use these kinds of substances, so you start to piece it all together."
But by then the FBI already knew anthrax spilling out of letters addressed to media outlets and to a U.S. senator was a military strain of the bioweapon. "Very quickly [Fort Detrick, Md., experts] told us this was not something some guy in a cave could come up with," the ex-FBI official said. "They couldn't go from box cutters one week to weapons-grade anthrax the next."
Now if only some decent WH reporter would ask a few simple questions during the press briefings, we might get some answers. The most important question is:
Where was Ivins during the week of 9/11-9/18/2001? His attorney should have no problem clearing his client if he can account for Ivins whereabouts during that full period. If, as the attorney claims, his client is innocent, then he should fully cooporate with press inquries.

| The media may be overhyping this really, but I thinks its still strange how Vial go missing from a MD research lab, where it seems there isnt much accountability, and then only a few short weeks later here we are. Just seems like the whole things manipulated really. |

so, the government is planning to release the vials so all the horses get sick, crippling horse racing in america, in the hope that some mosquito might bite those horses and then bite some humans and spread a mild flu? a mild flu for which there has been a vaccine for for decades?
