i've downloaded top 40 in the middle of a gig, was playing cds though, burnt the new tracks to cd and away we went

Done it while having friends over to mix, but not during a gig out somewhere. Not that I haven't thought about it.

Why would you go in to a gig with the intent of downloading tracks while you're playing?

If you know about it ahead of time, get it before the gig. :wtf:

"I left it at home/studio/cd case, etc..."
usually works :) I'd never d/l a track while playing live ... plus usually those request would only pleased a few people... how about the rest of the crowd... keep in mind that you might kill the dance-floor...

yeah that would work

Never tried it myself. Although I heard Traktor removed the beatport intergration with traktor pro as it was causing too many problems although I'm not really sure on the exact details.

So just tell them to f**k off!

Anyway I wouldn't really be in the position to do this...but have always wondered if anybody's done it too.

Ever heard of programming a set? generally, downloading a track and playing it as soon as someone asks is completely detrimental to that. Why don't you just plug in an ipod if peolpe aren't going to have the respect to let you take them on a journey?
