A DISABLED man who received more than $1000 in donations after being cruelly robbed has given the money to charity.
Wheelchair-bound Zell Goldman was robbed of his wallet by a man who befriended him in a Sydney pub, then placed chairs around him before snatching his wallet and running off.
Police are optimistic about catching the thief, who can be seen on CCTV footage placing chairs around Mr Dell at Chatswood’s Orchard Tavern.
Mr Goldman thanked the community for its support and said he would donate all money to the Spastic Centre.
"They need it more than me,’’ he told The North Shore Times.
"The treatment and care they’ve given me means I have the quality of life that I do.’’
People wanting to donate can phone the Spastic Centre on 1300136140.
The thief can be seen in CCTV footage talking with Mr Goldman and helping him play the pokies.
The man is about 180cm tall, medium build with a slight paunch and a little facial hair.
He was wearing a grey, hooded top and dark, long shorts at the time.
He was also carrying a white bum bag, which was slung on his back.
If you know the man in the CCTV footage, phone Chatswood Police on 94148499. |
