what is the deal with anyone can edit it or something? i won't lie, i've used it many times to brush up on some trivia/history but my dad always tells me i shouldn't fully rely on it. can anyone just sign up and put whatever bull they want in there, or is it more like facts that have somewhat of a bias view of whomever wrote it? |

Im not 100% how reliable it is but i know if there is false info in there it doesnt take too long beofre someone (like anyone does) point it out and get it amended |

Wikipedia has hired thousands of moderators to check content that is posted. Most of the time, if you post something that has absolutely no fact base (don't provide a source, provide information that can't be proven, or post something with a bias) then the moderators will delete it. Surprisingly enough, a majority of the content comes from a relatively small community that is into building encyclopedias and stuff :p |

Taken from wiki
'How can I help? Don't be afraid to edit — anyone can edit almost any page, and we encourage you to be bold! Find something that can be improved and make it better - for example, spelling, grammar, rewriting for readability and removing unconstructive edits. If you wish to add new facts, please provide references, so they may be verified, or suggest them on the article's discussion page first. Changes to controversial topics and Wikipedia's main pages should usually be discussed first.
Remember - you can't break Wikipedia, all edits can be reversed, fixed or improved later. So go ahead, edit an article and help make Wikipedia the best information source on the Internet!' |

Wikipedia put a block on editing it. (since the info was wrong)
A few months later it came out that elephants are really extinct. haha.

hey sweetie, you shouldn't rely on wikipedia because some of It is written by individuals that are not academically certified to give an opinion . However, it is a good source of information to gather basic facts (important dates, etc).
When it comes to physics, philosophy, chemistry, religion, and all of these more complicated subjects, the user tends to be biased, misinformed, and so on...
still wikipedia should be approached for what it is, a source of immediate information. |

I wouldn't write anything important using it as a sole source but there are obviously good things on there. Things such as sports info, eg how many appearances/goals/assists someone has are easy to find out. Knowing any tom dick and googooly could edit pages however means we may see some stupid info on there! |
