Same here, I've been rocking the Trans guest mix as well.

Danny does downtempo, breaks, house, disco, techno, trance, prog...all very well mind you. Should not be doing dubstep. Leave that alone danny!
montana
i like it.
montana
and this isn't dubstep

Yeah, this is most definitely not dubstep. It's a pretty straight forward drum n bass-track, albeit a pretty mellow one. It sounds pretty decent to me. Nothing extraordinary or terribly original, but still a smooth and atmospheric Good Looking-esque number with a nice bassline.

Good to see that the man isn't afraid to make something different.

LOL somebody shoot danny howells for trying something new.

A few questions...

Why should an artist follow a designated genre path?

Do you know ANYTHING about Danny Howells?

Why make a thread about a release you're not interested in or don't like? ing Hell Mark.

I listed 7 genres above that Danny excels in. He is permitted to operate within any of those, just not drum n bass. I know a lot about Danny I'm a superfan. And as a superfan I reserve the right to give an honest opinion about the artist I love.

You might be a superfan, Britney Spears has superfans, but do you think they know jack about music? I think what you are lacking here is music appreciation skills / knowledge, since you think you can predestine Danny Howells to genres. Also if you were a superfan you would have known Danny Howells does not follow any sort of genre, he does what he wants, and that is why many of us are "superfans."

I just think its poor music appreciate culture, to limit artists to genres, and to come out and premptively start a thread with a negative review of a new release. If you don't like it, just let it sink, that is the best thing you could do to a release you don't like. Let the people who enjoy the music bring it up, and then chime in.

lol I knew you would come back with a novel.

The truth is, Danny Howells needs my opinion like I need your opinion.

By the way, the Juno sample that you are probably basing your review or lack there of. Is nothing to go by.

Listen to the Full version. This track is SICKKK. I'm loving it.

The beat is something you would hear at a Jazz Club. Its not dubstep at all. Its more a twist of New York Hip Hop, British Rock, and Jazz.

The pads and atmospheres take you to another place, the bassline is serious. Overall feel of the track is quite psychedelic, what is not to like about it? O wait you probably didn't even listen to the whole track, and said "Danny Howells, why are you breaking MY rules?" rofl.

Another thing is, you probably havent heard something like this from him is because he never had a platform like this to release this type of stuff, now that he does, he can release what he wants.
