That is not a solution. It just a bad workaround. And BTW turning off the "reset plugins on transport" does nothing to cure this problem. This is the same as using voxengo delay plugin to delay any channel in any DAW making it work with vst's that cause a delay. This doesn't mean it has delay compensation and is a P.I.T.A. to do this; just try adding delay to each other channel in the mixer every time you add a vst with latency. Not to mention the whole midi clock getting delayed as a result.. I did try working like this.
I actually used FLStudio since version 2.7. That was like 7 years a go. I defended it for years, worked in it and I still thing it's a great DAW with great features, but finally I realized it's simply aimed at beginners; not because it's incapable of making great tracks, but because the developers simply ignore the requests of more experienced producers who's studio consists of more than a midi keyboard and a PC. That's why you see many producers who used FLStudio eventually switching to programs like cubase, logic, sonar, etc..
In the end, everyone is free to use what they want, but calling hardware support and PDC the "Bull no one cares about" just shows ignorance on your part. |

| FL is fine as long as you use a whole lot of analog with it. |

| I honestly don't care about multicore support so much anymore since my cpu seems to work fine (though it would be a nice improvement). They need to fix up the auto pdc and hardware support for SHIZ. Annoys the out of me. |

Well, All I can say is don't use ty obscure FX and you should be good. Why the FX would cause delay issues is curious, all I can say is wait untill that FX has the next version. Or don't use it.
Also, DXi, RTAS, VSTi formats work differently. So try to get the FX in another format. All of the Wave FS come in all 3 formats. |

Yeah, Waves and SIR are really ty obscure FX. :stongue:
Jesus, can't you go one day without making a complete ass of yourself? Effects don't have delays because they're poorly-written, they have delays because they are non-causal (i.e. convolution). There's nothing you can do about this. |

| Well Adam Szabo and Deadmau5 uses it , and their stuff is professional standard , so I dont see why we cant get quality stuff out of fruity loops.. |

| The only factor in whether or not you can make good music is the artists skill in doing so. If some people can make music by banging pipes and plastic bottles together, then a person can make music using FLStudio. |

Cubases interface is also extremely boring, don't ask me why but when I open it up it looks more like something you do *WORK* on rather then something you have fun with.

I don't think anyone here said that FL is not capable of making music. We are talking about it's pros and cons.

Deadmau5 is rumored to use a few different DAW's depending on what he wants to do including ableton, FL, reason, and cubase. And again, I don't think any of us here have said that FL cannot create anything music related, it's a music production program.
Also think about the name and look of the goddamn program. Fruity Loops... Who do you think they are marketing to when they decided on that name? And then take a look at the interface.
I'm not saying that looks and name matter but I just feel that the creators are marketing to beginners and wanted to create something that beginners could use and grow with. Not to mention this plugin delay problem which is a HUGE deal.
To me this debate is very similar to the Virtual DJ vs. Traktor debate. |
