| I think Propellerhead came up with an overly simple, and stupid, name for their DAW, but they make up for it with showing an immense amount of potential for having a top tier DAW in the market. 64-bit mixing engine with SSL channel strips on every channel AND the bus compressor... and with the price point they're advertising... this is intense and a massive deal. The "one thing" that *I* think will dictate how much of the market Record will compete with is how quickly and effectively it can edit audio. Pro Tools pretty much dominates every DAW in this sense and it will be interesting to see how Propellerhead approaches this, seeing how they've been a predominantly MIDI-only company. Even though I won't be switching from Cubase, I am definitely going to check this out. |
