Where do YOU park at the Vanguard?

I really enjoy going to the vanguard, but these days I really only seem to go there when there's a big name, Armin, Ferry, Markus, etc.
Anyway one of the reasons I don't make it out as often is the nights starts to add up.I mean you get on discount list $15-$20 then I end up spending $25 on parking or something, then a drink or two inside, gas, etc. It all adds up to just going out less.
Anywhere I kind of got stuck in a groove where I always go to the same place to park because it's easy:

One thing to note, I don't park in the Vanguard lot because I think they are valet? I don't want anyone driving my car, I drive a stick. Can I just park there (I think it's only $20?) Or where do you guys park that's cheaper? I just want somewhere that's fairly safe and cheaper then $25 dollars. Can you throw out some suggestions, maybe include pictures if it's hard to describe?
Also, yeah I can split parking with friends sometimes, but sometimes I have to drive in directly from somewhere else and park alone. And sometimes I just end up being the only one who wants to see a DJ. |

Where you park is $20 bucks right? There is also one a lil farther east across the street.
Also the shopping lots on the corner of Hollywood and Gower have been selling spots (you get to keep the key) for $10-$15. |

| I parked for free in lot "C" a little bit down the street. Another perk to passing out flyers for 5+ years :) |

I also have an in on free parking. I'm keeping that a secret to myself as well. I haven't paid for parking in Hollywood in 5 years. |

Ain't no way I'm giving away my secret spot, or using correct grammar.
But it is free and striking distance to both vanguard and avalon as well as the frolic. |

This club/bar (I think?) on Hollywood between Vine and Argyle? I think that's right. I walk by it all the time but I've never been inside. |

That was true for quite a few early years for me, but no longer.
The Frolic room is the best dive bar in that area of Hollywood. It's right next to Pantages. The best place to go for the pre-game drunkening. Some nights, I go to Frolic for the pre-game, then forget about even going to either avalon or vanguard. Cool bartenders, decent jukebox, very reasonably priced, especially for Hollywood. |
