On Friday, May 15, in cooperation with Red Stripe Beer, INCOGNITO proudly presents the
25TH ANNIVERSARY of the 1st HOUSE RECORD officially released, ON & ON (1984). In line with
this momentous event for Dance Music, INCOGNITO is bringing in the DJ/Producer behind
ON & ON who is also aptly called the ORIGINATOR of HOUSE MUSIC JESSE SAUNDERS.
Not limited to that, the legendary JESSE SAUNDERS also produced "Funk U Up" (the first
House track to ever make it onto the Billboard charts), "Real Love", "Love Can't Turn Around"
(the song that started the House music revolution in the UK) and "Dum Dum" soon followed.
His group, Jesse's Gang was eventually signed to Geffen Records, releasing the album Center
of Attraction shortly after, with the single off the album, "I'm Back Again" becoming a top ten
club hit. And those are just the early years.
On top of that, we are also privileged to have an all star lineup of two of the best House DJs
in Los Angeles, SCOTT K (Box Music) and JOPLIN (Pork & Beats). Closing this night will be the
1st appearance of TRES INCOGNITOS (Franco Benito + Alan2 + Cache), the team behind INCOGNITO itself.
There will also be an ART EXHIBIT showing the history of House and AWARDING of Local LA
Heroes before the music starts.
From 1984 to 2009, join us as we CELEBRATE the birth and the growth of this genre we have
all come to love and appreciate, and give respect to the DJ/Producer/Legend who started it all.

As the story goes, Jesse Saunders used to play REMIX BY MACH "ON AND ON" as part of his DJ sets in the early 80's. His copy of that record was stolen one night and he decided to use the loop from that track to create the very first house record on his very own newly formed label Jes Say records. The catalogue number for this release would be JS999. The first 500 copies were pressed with a black label with white text. The subsequent presses had a white label with black text. Jesse Saunders' version is regarded by many as being the first recorded house release. A genuine piece of Chicago House history from way back in 1984.

Chicago House legend JESSE SAUNDERS playing DJ SCOTT K & Cole Medina vs James Brown "I'm Satisfied" at the CHOSEN FEW HOUSE REUNION picnic in Chicago. it's hard to hear in this video but once the track kicks in, the crowd literally screams from the start to the finish.
