If you want one of the most clever series there has ever been then has to be yes minster (old but great). Watch it from the start and it explains the government of the uk better than any book. So very balanced and full of truisms and ing funny!
These are the least clever short jokes (and you need to know the series to get most of them). But the general absurdity of some it and how true it is, is amazing (and based on experiences I'd guess).
