Hello TA,
Here is an older song that I made, but never uploaded it to the net. I think I was going for a Electro House feel on this one. Well with a touch of trance. I used multiple instances of Synth1 for this tracks bass/leads/pads.
Enjoy

Not bad at all! It has a nice, uplifting progressive feel to it, and the melody is gorgeous. My nitpicky comments follow (feel free to disregard, since I'm nowhere near as good): it all seemed a bit heavy on the reverb, particulary during the intro; I think the kick is a little too loud in relation to the synths, especially the bassline, which I thought could sound a little "meaner"; the pads during the breakdown and beyond are a little too soft/underwhelming for me; and I thought the ending was kind of abrupt.
Overall, though, it was a well-spent 9 minutes. :)
P.S. What reverb did you use? It sounds a hell of a lot better than anything I've got in my arsenal (I'm on Ableton, with the Ambience VST.) |

Thanks alot for the feedback, I'm just trying to shape into a new sound here. As for the technical aspects of the track, I pretty much had to revive the track, it was an older track so alot of the settings we're pretty messed up. Instead of deleting all my FX, I just constantly kept tweaking it. But also I made that song on a crap laptop, with crap headphones.
As for the structure of the song, yes the ending is a bit abrupt as you put it, because I really could think of anything that would fit, but only time can tell if I come up with something new for it, the pads are really soft, they we're intended for the intro, and I wanted to layer another pad into the breakdown, but once again no ideas come to mind yet.
I'll be posting an updated version sometime through out the weekend though.
Oh yeah, that reverb is Fruity Reverb 2 :-p

Hey Pyster,
I listened to your track off your myspace page and I really enjoyed it. The song lives up to the track name. Very placid and soothing for the soul. What happened to your attempt to repost the song? I would like to listen to it on my mp3 player.
Overall, excellent job, man! |

Here is the update to Echo of Peace, still need some little qwarks worked on with the mix, but overall its 95% done, i might want to chance the bassline to something a little moving as well, but we'll see :)
