I made a post a while back about my melodies and chord progressions... don't like a lot of them... they tend to come off too cheesy, although I think the insanity often is that NOTHING seems to sound right to my ears lately... isolated notes, sequences and chord progressions all sounding awful.
Been deviating from minor scale to blues and pentatonic... definately some interesting stuff to be found there but certainly shouldn't have to use it.
I've made some nice older melodies and have played around with melodies from other people's tracks and found them pretty decent, so I know that its still possible of course.
How often does one go off scale for approach notes? Is it best to stick strickly to the scale being used? |
